Course background

This workshop is for Heads of Service, Benefit Managers, Team Leaders and other relevant staff responsible for introducing and managing plans for DWP’s RBI in general and in particular minimising HB error and maximising HB overpayment recovery.

With the unexpected replacement of FERIS 3 and DWP switching reduced funding to a new Right Benefit Initiative, this workshop will take an independent and unfettered look at the operational impact and risks. In particular we analyse and discuss :

  • The level of funding available
  • Volumes of work
  • Organisational Options
  • Getting the most from Wider Use of Real Time Information (WuRTI)  Optional RTI - Logistics
  • Challenges around increasing HB overpayment debt

With the challenges of running a Right Benefit Programme now even greater than ever, John Giblin will also share his direct experience in helping a number of Councils successfully set up and manage Right Benefit Programmes, including :

  • Getting it Right at the gateway
  • Keeping it Right through Data sharing and targeted interventions
  • Putting it Right and prompt, efficient and effective debt recovery.

Due to their huge popularity in previous workshops, John will again facilitate syndicate and group sessions to ensure that you get the optimal exchange of knowledge and ideas, from each other.

John Giblin will facilitate the event. John has been a management consultant for over 25 years. He helped the DWP successfully implement Incapacity Benefit and JSA and is now working with IRRV as a freelance management consultant.

The day will begin with coffee and registration from 9.30am and will conclude around 3.30pm to 3.45pm.

A full agenda will be available later. This workshop will be invaluable for Benefit Managers, Team Leaders and other relevant staff.

The workshop represents excellent value for money, with seminar fees starting at only £125 + VAT. This includes lunch, refreshments, and training materials.
