This course will introduce you to the various insolvency processes available in Scotland.
Whether the debtor is an individual or company; choosing to enter insolvency or being forced into formal insolvency by a creditor, it will look at the impact of insolvency; the effects of the procedures and the differences between them.
Specifically it will look at the impact of formal insolvency on local government claims and what you can expect from dealing with an Insolvency Practitioner in practice.
The course is designed to be participative and to equip you with knowledge you can apply in your day-to-day role. It will be fully up to date for all legislative changes in force on the date of the course.

Seminar Leader : About Eileen Maclean, Director of Insolvency Support Services Limited
Eileen is a licensed insolvency practitioner with 27 years’ experience of all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency. A member of the IPA and R3, Eileen represented Scotland on R3’s National Council for six years until 2009. She has been an active member of R3’s Scottish Technical Committee since 2003, and now sits on the IPA’s Professional Guidance and Ethics and Personal Insolvency Committee.
In 2009 Eileen co-founded Insolvency Support Services Limited. ISS provides volume support and outsourcing services to the Scottish Government, Big 4, medium and smaller practices including case progression and closure, back office support and compliance reviews. Eileen specialises in complex issues and dispute resolution.
Eileen is widely recognised as the foremost trainer of insolvency in Scotland and through ISS Training trains students of insolvency at all levels and provides tailored training for IPs, solicitors and banks.
This professional meeting represents excellent value for money, with delegate fees starting at only £125 + VAT. This includes lunch, refreshments, and training materials. The course starts at 10am (registration from 9.30am) with a finish time of around 4pm.
As places are limited, early booking is recommended. The IRRV regrets that, under normal circumstances, delegate fees cannot be refunded. However, delegate substitutions may be made at no cost at any time prior to the event, subject to these being notified to the Institute.
