Course background

Getting your council tax charges right first time?

Spending scarce resources correcting incorrect bills?

This course takes delegates through the principles of council tax and will equip them to assess council tax charges correctly and to the correct charge payers.

Last year saw probably the most fundamental changes to Council Tax legislation since its introduction in 1993.    As well as having a firm grasp of these changes it is important to be mindful of previous legislation in order to correctly calculate retrospective charges.

This course, which covers all aspects relating to assessment, billing and collection, gives delegates an invaluable introduction or refresher to the administration of Council Tax.   It will be of interest to local authority staff, IRRV students and others, such as Sheriff Officers’ staff, the money advice sector and recovery agents.

The seminar represents excellent value for money, with seminar fees starting at only £145 + VAT.   This includes lunch, refreshments, and training materials.

As places are limited, early booking is recommended.   The IRRV regrets that, under normal circumstances, delegate fees cannot be refunded.   However, delegate substitutions may be made at no cost at any time prior to the Seminar, subject to these being notified to the Institute.
