Course Background

Responding to requests from a significant number of delegates at recent events, IRRV in partnership with DWP has put together this information exchange and participative workshop.

The focus of the day is very much centred on the practical operational impact and effective management of information relayed to you electronically by DWP. So, if you are new to this area or simply want to refresh your knowledge, this workshop is perfect for you.

We will concentrate on how the recent information sharing developments – Verification of Earnings and Pensions (VEP) and the DWP Debt Project’s Employer Trace – can be best utilised to get and keep payments right and recover debt more rapidly should payments go wrong.

In particular we will focus on the operational impact of these initiatives, for example how:

  • VEP alerts might affect how you manage fluctuating earnings claims now and, in the future, in a sustainable manner

  • you might best use VEP, routinely as part of your verification process

  • you might plan to make best use of the top-quality information coming back from Employer Trace – not least how you might want to plan and manage the workflow as well as organise and manage the staff

Resolving issues, questions and facilitated discussion

Each session has time for questions and answers. And there will be an extended session in the afternoon for facilitated discussion.

We will close the day with an open forum to discuss how the day’s learning can be practically deployed back at the office.

The day will begin with coffee and registration from 9.30am and will conclude around 3.30pm to 3.45pm.

A full agenda will be available to registered delegates before the event.

The day will be facilitated by John Giblin on behalf of the Institute and we are grateful for the detailed input of DWP colleagues into this workshop.

The seminar represents excellent value for money, with seminar fees starting at only £145 + VAT. This includes lunch, refreshments, and training materials.

As places are limited, early booking is recommended. The IRRV regrets that, under normal circumstances, delegate fees cannot be refunded. However, delegate substitutions may be made at no cost at any time prior to the Seminar, subject to these being notified to the Institute.

Special offer

Every fourth place from the same organisation booked for this workshop (and made in the same booking) is entirely free of charge. Please note that, due to the demand for places, this offer applies only to the workshop detailed in this brochure.
