Money Advice Scotland and the IRRV in Scotland are delighted to announce this major one-day Conference taking place in Glasgow on Friday 8th November 2019.

This Conference is the joint event of the year for Money Advice Scotland and IRRV Scotland, bringing together practitioners, managers, policy makers from the fields of money advice, revenues and credit and debt collection.

This year’s conference is a must and will focus on the key issues facing money advice, financial inclusion and consumer rights at a time of significant change and challenge.

We will discuss open banking, and see first-hand how technology can assist in reducing advisers time in dealing with clients.

In addition, there will be an update on the statutory solutions for debt relief and debt management. The conference will also look at good practice, and how we can learn from each other.

This conference is “a must” as our conference speakers are all experts in their field and drawn from government, voluntary, private, and statutory sectors.

We are certain there will be plenty food for thought. Don’t miss out – be there!

The programme includes :

  • What’s new in the regulatory landscape for debt advice in Scotland – Dr Richard Dennis, Accountant in Bankruptcy and Agency Chief Executive
  • The use of Open Banking – Sandra Parry, Chief Operating Officer, Digimass
  • Consumer Scotland Bill - a review of its progress through the Scottish Parliament – Consumer and Competition Unit, Scottish Government.
  • Debt recovery best practice – the practicalities of harmonisation between agencies and local authorities
  • Corporate Debt Recovery Policies – Improvement Service
  • Channel Shift pilot project – David Hilferty, Deputy Chief Executive, Money Advice Scotland
  • So are we changing that dial? - Keynote closing address from Yvonne MacDermid OBE, Chief Executive, Money Advice Scotland

Please note that conference fees are particularly good value for money, with the delegate fee including attendance at the Conference, lunch, all refreshments and all Conference documentation. The Conference starts at 10am (registration from 9.30am) and ends around 4pm.
