IRRV Annual Scottish Conference 2021
Wednesday 8th September 2021

Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th September

The Institute is delighted to announce details of its 2021 Scottish Conference.

Due to continuing uncertainty about the easement of COVID-19 health emergency restrictions and social distancing IRRV Scotland will running conference 2021 as a virtual live conference featuring plenary sessions and sessions targeted at practitioners in valuation and revenues and benefits administration.

We are confident that our virtual Scottish Conference promises to deliver thought-provoking keynote speakers and sessions on a digital platform. Delegates can attend at low cost – little more than a one day training event charge – with discounts for block booking of delegate places from local authorities and all other organisations taking part.

The theme of this year’s Conference – “Scotland – Building Back Better” – highlights the emphasis on the key themes that run through the delivery of Scottish public services and the subjects discussed and debated at Scottish Conference 2021, coming, as it will, as public services recover from the challenges of the COVID-19 health emergency.

We have invited Tom Arthur MSP, the new Minister for Public Finance, Planning and Community Wealth, to give the keynote Ministerial Address.

In addition to delivering key updates on these big issues and encouraging debate about these, conference will also examine the improved delivery of Scottish public services in a time
of unprecedented financial challenge and will examine how to provide quality services, with an emphasis on continuing improvement into the future.

This year’s Conference programme is both wide-ranging and will be of great interest to all who have a role to play in local taxation, valuation, benefits and related fields.

The Wednesday afternoon and Thursday sessions are designed to appeal particularly to those at the ‘sharp end’ of service delivery.

This conference is a major event in the Scottish local government calendar and offers everyone with an interest
in local government, rating valuation and related fields, the opportunity to debate key issues, listen to new ideas and make a contribution by expressing their opinions.

We look forward to inviting you back to our usual style of conference in 2022, which has been run so successfully at
the Crieff Hydro Hotel in recent years. The health emergency means that we cannot be at Crieff Hydro again this year but the content on-line at conference 2021 will retain the first-class quality IRRV Scottish Conference at exceptional value.
